This little shingle beach at the eastern end of the town, is the last beach before a long stretch of limestone ledges and rock-pools visible at low tide. The area to the right of this jetty with the remnants of the 2008 landslip, is known as East Cliff, where Mary Anning found the remains of an ichthyosaur in 1811. The famous Cobb breakwater which can be seen on the horizon, is the most well known landmark of Lyme Regis.
